RUN YOUR CAR ON WATER A HOAX?
June 5, 2008
Dear Fellow Gas Price Sufferer, Can you actually run your car on water, or is this idea totally crazy? That's the question I asked myself when I first saw Internet ads for converting your car to a "water hybrid". Run my car on water? What kind of idiot would advertise that? But... I'm a Chemist, by background. And when I looked at these simple plans for converting my car I changed my mind. It's really technically feasible, extremely easy, and it DOES work. First of all, you know that water consists of two atoms of hydrogen bonded to one atom of oxygen. Hydrogen is a fuel, and produces a lot of energy when it combines with oxygen to produce water. So... The plans call for "splitting the water molecule", producing a hydrogen oxygen mix, which they call "Brown's gas". But, you ask, won't it take as much energy to split it as you get back when you recombine it? No... because they split it catalytically, and as you know a catalyst always reduces the energy required for any reaction (and amazingly enough, the catalyst is a simple material you already have in your kitchen!). Then they suck the gas mixture into the fuel intake of your car and mix it with gasoline. And guess what? People are reporting a 60 percent INCREASE in gas mileage. But, is it complicated? Is it expensive to convert? No... when you take a look at the schematic, you'll see it's quite easy and inexpensive...and if you don't want to do it yourself you can hire a mechanic to do it for probably not more than $150. Could it damage my car? Well, I suppose I could respond by saying "How Could it"? The gas you're sucking into your carburetor is a simple Hydrogen/Oxygen mix with some water vapor. All of these are already present in the air that's mixed with gasoline vapor during normal operation. Damage your car? Not a chance. But maybe you don't want to so much as give these plans a look. Well, that's your call. But if you're like me, you are paying $3.00 to $4.00 a gallon (I even saw a price that was almost FIVE DOLLARS A GALLON!!!!!). If you DON'T like throwing your money down the OPEC rat hole, it's time to give this serious consideration. But there are some other benefits beside saving money:
There are two major competing plans on the market right now for converting your car: Some say the second is a "Water4Gas" rip-off. Personally, I'd recommend Water4Gas. When you look at the advertisement page, you'll see why. Water4Gas shows you the advantages for making your own "water hybrid":
Well, I think row 11, "You save yearly", is being pretty conservative. When you consider being forced to trade in your SUV (which no dealer wants and has no trade-in value), I think you'll agree that you'll be saving a WHOLE LOT MORE than $1256. (Like, maybe, $60,000 after paying interest on a hybrid). "But I'm no mechanic", you say. When you look at these plans, you'll see that you don't have to be one. The modification is extremely easy...and if you don't want to do it, your personal mechanic can do it for you in about 15 minutes, and it's totally reversible. No sweat there. (And since there's an 8 week refund, you can get ALL YOUR MONEY BACK if your mechanic tells you not to do it). So can you really afford NOT to modify your vehicle? Gas is on it's way up...$5.00, $7.00 who knows where the end is, or even if there IS an end? But, if you don't want to save money, go on being a victim of OPEC, and maybe lose your SUV--don't take a look at either Water4Gas or Run Your Car On Water. Personally I'm sick of this oil rip-off, and if there's a way out, I'm going to take it. I hope you will too. Yours for saving money, gas, the Environment AND our SUV's,
John P.S. Oh heck, I've gotta say what I think. I don't believe you can afford NOT to grab a copy of Water4Gas or Run Your Car On Water -- before you hit the pump -- before gas goes up AGAIN! |
